Q: Are there any administrative fees payable to Genworth Life Insurance Company (Genworth Life) associated with participating in this program? A: No. Q: Will all of my employees receive the same information from Genworth Life? A: Because not everyone has the same propensity to purchase long term care insurance, Genworth Life tailors communications differently to various age groups. Some will receive Announcement postcards, others will receive a personalized rate quote letter, and others will receive a letter and brochure of information. But everyone should receive some form of communication from Genworth if their address was provided. Q: When will I receive the payroll deduction information? A: Bills are generated based on your payroll calendar, cut-off dates and payroll frequency and whether you take long term care deductions for the current month, in advance or in arrears. Each employer will have their own billing dates. In order to set up payroll deductions with Genworth Life for this benefit, you must complete and return the Payroll Questionnaire to the address on the form no later than October 8, 2011. Q: What is the employee effective date? A: Effective dates are assigned based on when the application is submitted, whether it is subject to medical underwriting, and whether the billing cut-off date has passed. We assign future effective dates, based on whether the bill for that time period has already generated. For example: If your payroll billing cut-off date is the 20th of each month for the 1st of next month's bill: if an application is received and processed on 10/20, they would be effective 12/1. If the application is received and processed on 11/24, they would be effective 1/1/11. Q: Can employees enroll after November 18, 2011? A: New hires are eligible to apply for coverage within 60 days of their date of hire. All other employees can apply at any time, subject to full medical underwriting and could be approved or denied coverage based on their health status. Q: How will employees enroll after November 18, 2011? A: The employee website will remain active for employees and family members to obtain information about the plan, rate quotes and applications. The website contains logic which will provide the correct application based on the status of the applicant. Q: How often will we need to provide Genworth Life with an updated eligibility list? A: Genworth Life does not require regular eligibility files to be sent. You can let new hires know about the program by providing them with the New Hire Flyer . New hires under the age of 80 have 60 days from their date of hire to sign up without having to prove insurability. If they are over 79 or wait to apply beyond their 60 days, they will be subject to full underwriting. Q: Can my employees attend an information session to learn more about the program? A: For those employers with 500 or more eligible employees at their location, Genworth Life is holding a live session. Typically 10% of your eligible employees will attend such a session, and ideally sessions would accommodate 20-50 people per session. We can work with eligible employers on appropriate times and dates. If we are unable to hold a live session in your area, there are alternatives for your employees. There will be multiple live webinar sessions scheduled throughout the enrollment window to allow employees access to the presentation and Q&A, via the internet. Also, there will be a pre-recorded version of the presentation available for download in October by Benefit Administrators on their website (please do not share that website address with employees, it is only for Benefit Administrators). This pre-recorded version contains both audio and visual elements, and can be played by Benefit Administrators if they wish to show to a group of employees at a meeting. This pre-recorded version will also be posted on the employee website in October for employees to watch if they wish. Q: If my employees have questions about the plan, where can I get answers? A: We do not ask or expect you to be long term care insurance experts. Employees should be referred to Genworth Life Customer Service.
