As part of our commitment to fully support our community partners around the world, Genworth has teamed with the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia to offer scholarship opportunities for nonprofit executive education. Past scholarship recipients have honed their business skills, enabling them to have a sustainable and positive impact on those in their service and furthering their organizations’ missions.
The Skills-Based Volunteering Program
When you think of volunteering, you probably think about helping to build a home for a family or delivering food to people in need. In addition to these critical services, what if we could go one step further and apply the business skills and expertise of our Genworth employees to help organizations in our communities succeed? That’s the thinking behind Genworth’s innovative Skills-Based Volunteering Program. Through this new form of volunteerism, high-performing teams of employees help charity organizations by offering technical skills for activities such as creating a financial plan or developing a marketing campaign.
