Investing In Our Communities
The Application Process
The Genworth Foundation makes investments in our global communities by providing funds to support nonprofit programs in one or more of our focus areas. Our focus areas include: providing educational and mentoring opportunities for at-risk youth; enriching seniors’ lives by battling Alzheimer’s disease, supporting home modifications and celebrating caregivers; and supporting safe and affordable housing as well as other basic needs.
Due to the large volume of requests, Genworth is unable to grant every proposal. Unsolicited proposals are not encouraged. Qualification considerations include geographic location, synergy with Genworth’s focus areas and involvement of Genworth employees.
Community support is awarded annually. For consideration, applications must be submitted at www.genworth.com/foundation by August 15th for funding for the following year.
A very limited number of charitable sponsorships may also be available. Applications follow the same process and timeline. No funding is available for individual or commercial interests, religious or political organizations or programs not aligned with our focus areas.
In Richmond, Virginia, funding for educational programs serving at-risk youth is supported solely through our annual Children’s Advantage Classic. A Request for Proposal will be issued for funding consideration (the time of year varies). Applications for Genworth’s Skills-Based Volunteering Program and Nonprofit Executive Scholarship Program are intermittently available at www.genworth.com/foundation, based on program availability in specific communities.
