Funding criteria and eligibility

To begin the application process, please review the Genworth Foundation funding criteria and eligibility requirements prior to submitting a letter of intent.

Letters of intent

In order to be considered for funding, organizations that have not previously received funding from the Genworth Foundation or have not received funding within the prior calendar year may submit a letter of intent. Letters of intent can be submitted without an invitation and are reviewed throughout the year. Average grants range from $5,000-$25,000.

Based on the nature of the request and fit with funding criteria, the Genworth Foundation will determine which organizations will be invited to submit fully-developed proposals. Those selected to continue in the process will receive specific proposal guidelines and an expanded application.

Grant applications

Due to the large volume of requests for support and limited resources, grant applications are by invitation only.

The Genworth Foundation operates on a spring and fall grant cycle. Informational calls will be conducted prior to the grant applications being open in the system to review criteria, application components, and address any questions. Invitation codes will be sent to non-profits after these calls.

Organizations that have been invited to apply for a grant may access the application using the links below. You will need your invitation code provided by the Genworth Foundation in order to access the application. Grant applications and supporting materials are carefully evaluated by the Genworth Foundation. Notification of decisions will be made by email within 4-6 weeks of submission.

Program support grants are designed to support the activities of an organization to help it achieve its stated mission and objections.
